We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly driven candidate to join our Highways Asset Management team at Calderdale Council. We are seeking to recruit an Engineering Team Manager for Highways Network Co-Ordination. You will provide high level expert advice and management to the Street Works co‐ordination team in support of all aspects of the Street Works service.

You will lead, direct and manage the team in ensuring statutory and corporate objectives are delivered and ensuring compliance with requirements as set out by the New Roads & Street Works Act 1991 (NRSWA). You will be integral to ensuring the continued successful operation of the Councils Permit Scheme and lead on delivery of the upcoming Lane Rental scheme.

You will need to be confident in communicating with stakeholders at all levels including multi agency partners, Councillors (Parish, District and County), MPs, utility companies, public transport providers, senior managers as well as members of the public. Excellent communication skills are required to be able to communicate effectively with these stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.

With an accreditation in Street Works, you will have extensive experience in Highways Network management and dealing with traffic management and coordination issues with a high level of awareness of relevant legislation on a daily basis. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong organisational ability and be familiar with budget monitoring and collaborative working. The successful candidate will have a degree level qualification in a relevant area or equivalent experience.
