Inclusion Support Coach (SEMH) in Halifax

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Inclusion Support Coach (SEMH) to join our Specialist Inclusion Team.

This is an exciting opportunity to support schools and educational settings to develop their confidence, skills and capacity to meet the needs of children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Working across Calderdale, you will help schools strengthen inclusive practice and improve participation, engagement, attendance and outcomes for children and young people.

About the role

You will work alongside schools, early years settings and partner agencies, providing advice, coaching and practical support to enable staff to develop effective SEMH provision.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing advice, guidance and coaching to schools and educational settings.




• Supporting schools to identify and address barriers to learning, attendance and inclusion.




• Promoting relational, restorative and trauma-informed approaches.




• Developing workforce confidence through coaching, mentoring, workshops and training.




• Helping schools implement and evaluate recommendations from specialist services.




• Providing consultation and signposting to appropriate support services.




• Working collaboratively with families and partner agencies to improve outcomes.




• Contributing to Calderdale's wider vision for inclusion.

About you

You will have:

• A Level 3 qualification in education, SEND, SEMH, pastoral support, youth work or a related field, or equivalent experience.




• Experience of working with children and young people with SEMH needs.




• Experience of supporting inclusive practice within educational settings.




• Knowledge of SEND legislation, inclusive practice and SEMH support approaches.




• Excellent communication, coaching and relationship-building skills.




• Experience of training, mentoring or supporting other professionals.
