Overview
Calderdale Council is seeking motivated Solicitors to join its established and dynamic Legal Services team. Due to a significant increase in commercial property support across the Council, we are looking to appoint a full-time solicitor in our Commercial Property team. We are seeking to recruit an experienced qualified Solicitor or Barrister to join our Commercial Property team. You will have in depth knowledge and experience of all aspects of property law.
Responsibilities
- Advising clients on a wide range of high-level complex cases in relation to property law.
- Ability to handle high caseload with little supervision and able to deal with all aspects of Landlord & Tenant work, sale & purchases and all other aspects of property law.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with in-depth knowledge and experience of all aspects of property law.
- Skilled at providing concise and clear guidance, well-organised and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Interest in the public sector with some exposure to Compulsory Purchase Orders, Enforced Sales and development work preferred.

Working pattern
Our employees are currently undertaking a hybrid of home working and office-based working. The successful candidate will be primarily working remotely with a minimum of one day in the office per week (ideally Wednesday) or more if required. The office is based in the centre of Halifax. Our excellent technology and equipment will enable you to connect and collaborate from anywhere.
