We are looking for a passionate and committed Young People’s Voice Officer to join our Children and Young People’s Service in Calderdale. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference by ensuring that the voices of children and young people are heard, valued, and acted upon in shaping services and decisions that affect their lives.
Age requirement: The minimum age for this role is 18 years. This requirement ensures safeguarding compliance, appropriate professional boundaries, and legal responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver innovative engagement activities that empower young people to share their views and experiences.
- Facilitate youth forums, advisory groups, and consultation events to ensure meaningful participation.
- Work collaboratively with partners to embed young people’s voices in service planning and improvement.
- Build strong relationships with schools, community organisations, and partner agencies to promote youth involvement.
- Ensure feedback from young people informs decision‑making and is communicated effectively.
About You
- Is passionate about youth voice and participation.
- Has an NVQ Level 3 in Youth Work or equivalent or demonstrable experience in a similar environment.
- Has experience working with children and young people in a community or safeguarding context.
- Can communicate effectively and creatively with diverse groups of young people.
- Is skilled in partnership working and building positive relationships.
