An opportunity to join Calderdale’s Specialist Inclusion Team, supporting Children and Young People with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities to access their education and live full and aspirational lives. The SEND & Inclusion Team is part of the Borough’s Children and Young People’s Service and is committed to ensuring educational inclusion and best outcomes for every child and young person.
Responsibilities
- Deliver specialist support to autistic children and young people across the Early Years, Primary and Secondary phases.
- Provide interventions and guidance to children aged 5–25 years as part of the Autism Outreach Team.
- Work under the direction and close collaboration with an assigned Autism Outreach Teacher.
- Develop professional relationships with children, families and multi-agency professionals to work together towards agreed outcomes.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to the developmental needs of children and young people with complex needs.
Qualifications & Experience
- Qualified experience supporting autistic children and young people, with a sound understanding of Autism.
- Prior knowledge and expertise in delivering appropriate specialist interventions.
- Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with children, families and multi‑agency stakeholders.
