We are looking to recruit a Community Link Worker to be part of the Neighbourhood Team at Halifax Central Initiative, based at Elsie Whitely Innovation Centre.

Role Overview

  • Applicants must have experience of working in a paid or voluntary capacity with residents and/or community groups within a diverse community.
  • Applicants must have good organisational and team working skills with the ability to communicate clearly in writing and face to face with a broad range of people.
  • A knowledge and understanding of the issues that face people living in neighbourhoods like Halifax Central will be an essential requirement of the role.
  • You will be required to work with residents from all communities particularly focusing on Eastern European/Roma Heritage residents.
  • It is essential that the postholder has the ability to communicate in Czech/Slovak verbally and in writing.

Qualifications

  • Experience working in a paid or voluntary capacity with residents and/or community groups within a diverse community.
  • Good organisational and team working skills.
  • Clear written and face-to-face communication skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of issues facing diverse neighbourhoods.
  • Ability to communicate in Czech/Slovak verbally and in writing.
