We are looking to recruit a Community Link Worker to be part of the Neighbourhood Team at Halifax Central Initiative, based at Elsie Whitely Innovation Centre.
Role Overview
- Applicants must have experience of working in a paid or voluntary capacity with residents and/or community groups within a diverse community.
- Applicants must have good organisational and team working skills with the ability to communicate clearly in writing and face to face with a broad range of people.
- A knowledge and understanding of the issues that face people living in neighbourhoods like Halifax Central will be an essential requirement of the role.
- You will be required to work with residents from all communities particularly focusing on Eastern European/Roma Heritage residents.
- It is essential that the postholder has the ability to communicate in Czech/Slovak verbally and in writing.
Qualifications
- Experience working in a paid or voluntary capacity with residents and/or community groups within a diverse community.
- Good organisational and team working skills.
- Clear written and face-to-face communication skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of issues facing diverse neighbourhoods.
- Ability to communicate in Czech/Slovak verbally and in writing.
