Calderdale’s SEND & Inclusion Team are part of the Borough’s Children and Young People’s Services and have a strong commitment to ensuring educational inclusion and best outcomes for every child / young person. An opportunity has arisen to join Calderdale’s Specialist Inclusion Team on a casual basis. The team supports Children and Young People with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities to access education within their mainstream setting, and to live full and aspirational lives.

Responsibilities

We are looking for qualified teachers with extensive SEND experience to join one or more of our teams on a casual basis. Roles include stepping in and out of casework as needed to support service capacity. Successful candidates must demonstrate a sound understanding of their area of specialism and deliver appropriate advice and support to schools/colleges to facilitate the effective delivery of Universal, Targeted and Specialist strategies within the Graduated Approach. Candidates must be able to work across all age phases, except for those applying to the EY/Portage team. They will develop professional relationships with children and young people, their families and multi‑agency professionals, working collaboratively towards agreed outcomes. The teams considered include:

  • Autism
  • HIVI & MSI
  • EY/Portage outreach

Qualifications

Qualified teachers with extensive SEND experience, capable of working across Primary, Secondary and Post 16 phases. Knowledge of Universal, Targeted and Specialist strategies, and the Graduated Approach.
