Internal at risk or redeployee applicants will be seen in the first instance. The Victoria Theatre is one of Yorkshire’s Arts venues and sits within Public Services of Calderdale Council. We strive to deliver a varied arts and entertainment programme with professional artists, local Amateur Dramatic Society’s, and community groups.
The Victoria Theatre is looking for a highly motivated person to join the Box Office team. The successful applicant will be part of a team selling tickets and providing administrative support for the development of the box office service in a large receiving house.
Responsibilities
The role includes maintaining a high level of customer care for Victoria Theatre customers and ensuring that all identified administrative duties are undertaken to ensure the smooth running of the Box Office service. The successful candidate will:
- Sell tickets and provide administrative support for the box office.
- Work with the public (in person and on the telephone) in a busy, deadline-driven, customer-facing environment.
Essential Skills and Requirements
- GCSE Grade 4/C or above in Maths and English, or demonstrable experience.
- Experience of working directly with the public.
- Excellent customer care.
- Telephone experience in a sales environment.
- Experience of taking bookings and inputting customer data.
- Experience of handling cash, credit/debit cards, banking and cashing up procedures.
- GDPR knowledge.
- Experience of working within a busy office environment.
- Confidence with working independently and on own initiative.
- Proven ability to use IT packages including standard Microsoft Office software and customer databases.
What you need to know
Candidates must be able to work during the week, evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays. The working pattern is an annual hours-based contract, and the rota is dependent on the Theatre’s programme.
