The predicted salary is between 24000 - 36000 £ per year.
Working to agreed competencies and protocols, the post holder will contribute to providing a high quality transport service to Acute and Community Services and clients throughout the Calderdale and Kirklees area. The post holder will be working under the supervision (not always direct) of the operation's manager. This will involve taking responsibility for an identified and delegated workload.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Work will be carried out from both an Acute setting and a variety of community based settings, e.g. HRI/CRH, Health Centres, Dentists, Opticians, the service users home, residential care or other community venues.
- Provide transport to and from both main hospital sites.
- Deliver mail throughout the Kirklees and Calderdale area, including Path Lab results/specimens & mail.
- Deliver medical and non-medical supplies.
- Deliver & collect equipment to & from service users homes, clinics and other sites.
- Transport staff via the shuttle service.
- Ad-hoc patient transport and sample transportation.
- First user vehicle checks, transportation of equipment, samples, patients and staff and any other request deemed suitable.
- Completion of relevant tracking forms, general upkeep of the vehicles including cleaning and day to day maintenance of vehicles (oil, water, DEF etc.).
- 3rd party or cross-site responsibilities may include working across Facility services, which include Portering/Linen, Domestics, Catering, Transport/Equipment and other support services.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Successful applicants will need to undertake a drivers assessment and have no more than 6 points on their licence.
- Ability to provide transport to and from main hospital sites and to deliver & collect equipment and materials as required.
- Must be willing to deliver and collect equipment, transport staff, patients and samples as part of the role.
- A DBS check may be required; the Trust will administer the DBS check on your behalf and may recover the cost from salary on commencement.
- Inter-Authority Transfer (IAT) process may apply for data transfer within the NHS Electronic Staff Records system.
- Information will be transferred to the NHS ESR system if applicable.
- Some roles may be eligible for sponsorship checks per GOV.UK visa guidance; applicants should review criteria carefully.
- Applicants should provide referees who can verify employment/education history over the last three years with valid email addresses.
