Job overview: You will be a motivated and patient focused pharmacy technician to further enhance our friendly and experienced team. You will be involved in all aspects of the pharmacy outpatient service and will receive appropriate training for the clinical computer systems in use at CHFT.
Main duties of the job:
- Work independently to a high level of technical competency following departmental standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Contribute to the delivery of a quality dispensing service
- Perform a final accuracy check on dispensed medicines
- Provide leadership to the technical team and act as deputy to Pharmacy Manager
- Work collaboratively with pharmacy team members and other healthcare professionals

Experience:
- Evidence of supervisory experience
- Evidence of CPD and self-development
- Hospital pharmacy experience
- Have participated in clinical audit
Qualifications:
- Registered with GPhC as a pharmacy technician
Knowledge & Skills:
- Accredited to do final accuracy check for prescriptions dispensed by others
- Able to work autonomously, requiring minimal supervision
- Able to work to set procedures and relevant regulations
- Able to clearly and accurately complete routine documentation
- Good organisational, time management and workload prioritisation skills
- Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) within the technical team
- Contribute to development of SOPs
- Demonstrate good oral and written communication skills
- Evidence of good team working and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate accurate numeracy skills, without using a calculator
- Demonstrate computer literacy skills and confidence in the use of Microsoft programs such as Word/Excel/Outlook
- Knowledge of the principles of stock control
