JOB PURPOSE
To deliver nationally accredited courses to KS4 students in your specialist subject and KS3 national curriculum subjects as required. To liaise with SLT, the Headteacher, other teachers, and mainstream providers and appropriate exam boards. You will also have pastoral responsibilities as a form tutor. The role requires an experienced classroom practitioner combined with high levels of emotional intelligence, patience and flexibility.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Promote high standards of teaching and learning, creating a climate for learning and an ethos of success.
- Support the Headteacher/SLT to establish, develop, monitor and evaluate the curriculum.
- Coordinate with other providers and teachers to ensure continuity and progression within the school.
- Deliver and contribute to the monitoring of the curriculum through self‑evaluation, peer observations and analysis of results.
- Contribute to the school improvement plan, planning, monitoring and evaluation.
- Report on student progress in line with the school systems.
- Advise the Headteacher/SLT on the use of existing materials and resources and plan new resources.
- Organise the storage of resources and monitor their relevance.
- Take responsibility for advising on exam entries and the administration of exam board procedures.
- Identify the appropriate level and type of exam entry for individual students.
- Attend relevant training, review educational journals and disseminate information as appropriate.
- Provide advice and training on delivery of the subject within KS3–KS4.
- Maintain curriculum files for the subject.
- Provide information for the annual self‑evaluation/reports to SLT for teaching and learning.
- Adhere to school policies, procedures and guidance, including the Calcot Services for Children Handbook.
- Maintain awareness of health and safety, risk assessment procedures, and attend appropriate training.
- Promote safeguarding, child protection and BBCPs procedures, and attend appropriate training.
- Promote British values.
- Perform any other duties as deemed appropriate by the Headteacher.
