My client, a leading civil engineering contractor is currently recruiting for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join their team at Sizewell C. This is a hands-on role for someone who genuinely cares about keeping people safe and wants to play a key part in delivering projects the right way. It would suit someone from a civil engineering or construction background who is comfortable working on busy sites and supporting teams at every level.

The role:
- Act as a key member of the project delivery team, supporting health and safety across site activities.
- Review and advise on risk assessments, method statements and site health & safety plans.
- Chair monthly HSEQ forward planning meetings.
- Carry out site inspections and audits.
- Attend and represent the business at client and subcontractor safety meetings.
- Investigate incidents and accidents, prepare reports and follow up on corrective actions.
- Communicate safety updates and initiatives to the workforce.
- Work closely with the HSQE Director, contributing to project reports and procedure reviews.
- Develop and deliver health and safety training.
- Ensure compliance with HSE legislation and client requirements.
Experience & Knowledge:
- Strong background in civil engineering or construction, with experience in areas such as groundworks, drainage, structures and lifting operations.
- Good working knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation.
- Understanding of CDM 2015 duties and responsibilities.
Skills:
- Confident communicator with good IT skills.
- Able to positively influence site teams and promote a strong safety culture.
- Proactive and practical approach to health and safety management.
- Comfortable delivering training and supporting staff development.
- Able to work cooperatively with clients, subcontractors and site teams.
Qualifications:
- NEBOSH (General and/or Construction) or equivalent.
- IOSH membership.
- CSCS card.
- Full UK driving licence (required for site visits).
