What You'll Do

  • Assisting qualified engineers with the installation, service and maintenance of refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
  • Learning how to diagnose faults and carry out repairs on commercial and industrial equipment.
  • Supporting preventative maintenance visits to customer sites.
  • Installing pipework, cabling, brackets and associated components.
  • Using specialist tools and equipment safely and effectively.
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings, manuals and specifications.
  • Carrying out system testing, commissioning and performance checks.
  • Maintaining accurate service records and job documentation.
  • Ensuring all work is completed in line with health, safety and environmental regulations.
  • Developing knowledge of refrigerants, energy efficiency and sustainable cooling technologies.
  • Delivering excellent customer service while working on client premises.
  • Attending college/training sessions and completing coursework towards the apprenticeship qualification.
  • Working as part of a professional team to deliver high-quality engineering solutions across a range of commercial projects.

Training Outcome

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, there is the opportunity to progress into a full-time Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineer role with Calby Air Limited. Apprentices can continue to develop their technical skills, gain industry-recognised certifications, and take on greater responsibility within the business.
