We support organisations to reduce energy consumption, cut carbon emissions, and meet increasingly complex regulatory and reporting requirements. Following continued growth and an expanding project pipeline, we are seeking a motivated Graduate or Junior Energy & Carbon Consultant to join our technical team. This role offers a genuine opportunity to build a long‑term career in energy consultancy, working on meaningful, real‑world decarbonisation projects with experienced practitioners.
As a Junior Energy & Carbon Consultant, you will play an active role in the delivery of energy and carbon projects across a wide range of building types and industrial processes. You will undertake site surveys, analyse energy data, identify practical efficiency measures, and contribute to professional client reports and strategies. You will work closely with senior consultants, gaining hands‑on experience while developing both technical competence and consultancy skills in a supportive environment. This role is ideal for someone at an early stage in their career who is keen to deepen their technical knowledge, develop confidence working with clients, and progress within a growing consultancy.
Key Responsibilities:- Undertaking on-site energy surveys of building services and industrial processes across public, commercial, and industrial sectors
- Identifying, evaluating, and quantifying energy, cost, and carbon‑saving opportunities
- Supporting the production of clear, well‑structured technical reports and client deliverables
- Contributing to the development of Carbon Management Plans, Heat Decarbonisation Plans, and Net Zero strategies
- Collecting, reviewing, and analysing energy and utility data
- Supporting clients with statutory compliance and reporting schemes, including Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) and Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR)
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to develop practical, implementable solutions
- Applying sound engineering principles to improve building and process efficiency
You will be a motivated, technically curious individual with a genuine interest in energy, sustainability, and carbon reduction. You will be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
Essential:- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A good understanding of mechanical and electrical systems within buildings and/or industrial environments
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own transport
- Fluent in English
- Legal right to work in the UK
- Degree‑qualified in energy, engineering, building services, sustainability, or a related discipline
- Two or more years’ practical experience in energy audits, building services, or industrial environments
- Work on varied, technically interesting projects with real carbon and cost impact
- Gain hands‑on experience across multiple sectors and technologies
- Learn directly from experienced energy and carbon professionals
- Clear opportunity for progression as the business continues to grow
- Supportive, professional team culture with a strong focus on quality and development
If you are looking to build a meaningful career in energy consultancy and want to develop your skills within a forward‑thinking and supportive organisation, we would be delighted to hear from you. Please only apply if you have the legal right to work in the UK. This position is not suitable for sponsorship or those based outside of the UK.
