Cala is a London based end to end production company specialising in photography and film for some of the world’s leading hotels, destinations, and travel brands. With roots in social and a background in visual storytelling, we bring together strategic thinking and intuitive creativity to capture not just what a place looks like, but how it feels to be there. Before becoming a production company, Cala was a creative partnership rooted in travel and photography. Sharing work with a community of more than 2 million followers on Instagram, we developed a visual style grounded in authenticity and a genuine sense of place. Over time, Cala organically grew into an end to end creative practice that now produces photo and video content around the world.

Role Description

We are looking to expand our network of freelance video editors based in (ideally East) London. This is not a full time role and is not a permanent position within the Cala team. Instead, we are looking to build relationships with talented freelance editors who may be interested in collaborating with us on a project by project basis throughout the year. Our work focuses primarily on the hospitality, travel, and lifestyle sectors, creating content for hotels, destinations, and brands around the world.

The ideal candidate will have at least three years of professional editing experience and be highly proficient in DaVinci Resolve.

Responsibilities May Include

• Editing short form and medium form video content across a variety of platforms and formats
• Crafting engaging six second, fifteen second, thirty second, and longer form edits
• Colour grading footage to a high professional standard
• Sound design, music selection, and audio balancing
• Collaborating with producers, creatives, and clients throughout the post production process
• Delivering projects efficiently while maintaining a high level of attention to detail
• Managing feedback and revisions in a professional and organised manner

Qualifications

We are looking for editors who combine technical skill with good judgement, creativity, and attention to detail. Qualities and experience we value include:

• At least three years of professional video editing experience
• Strong proficiency in DaVinci Resolve
• Excellent editing, pacing, storytelling, and post production skills
• Strong colour grading abilities and an understanding of cinematic visual language
• The ability to create work that aligns with Cala’s visual style and quality standards
• Experience editing travel, hospitality, lifestyle, or brand content
• Strong sound design and audio editing skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Clear and effective communication
• A collaborative and professional approach
• Kindness, reliability, and emotional intelligence
• The ability to manage deadlines and deliver work efficiently
