Cala is seeking a highly analytical and commercially astute FP&A Manager to lead on enhancements to financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis across the business. This will involve oversight of new system architecture to facilitate detailed scenario planning for the benefit of both management and shareholders. This role is pivotal in driving strategic decision‑making through insightful financial reporting and analysis. Based in Edinburgh, this role is newly created and will be a high-profile position within the business, liaising regularly with the Finance Director, CFO and Shareholders.
The successful candidate will be someone who can roll up their sleeves and dive into the detail, playing a key role in improving how data is captured and presented across the business. This role will also act as a crucial link between shareholder requirements and the development of scenarios within the budgeting framework.
Key Responsibilities- Enhance and drive the budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range planning processes from a systems perspective
- Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic initiatives
- Provide detailed variance analysis and commentary on financial performance to management and shareholders
- Partner with regional businesses to deliver actionable insights and drive performance
- Prepare monthly management reports and dashboards for senior leadership and shareholders
- Prepare scenario based sensitivity analysis for management and shareholders
- Support investment appraisals, scenario modelling, and business cases
- Drive continuous improvement in FP&A processes and systems
- Ensure alignment between financial plans and strategic objectives
- Play a leading role in wider system integration (sales/ procurement/ general ledger etc)
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, ICAS, CIMA) or equivalent
- Proven experience in FP&A
- Strong financial modelling and Excel skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
- Strategic thinking and commercial acumen
- High attention to detail and analytical rigor
- Proactive and self‑motivated
- Collaborative team player
- Strong presentation and storytelling skills
