Job Summary: We are looking for a Workplace Technology Engineer to support, maintain and incrementally enhance our Microsoft 365 digital workplace. This role sits at the administration‑led end of the spectrum, with a strong focus on secure configuration, operational reliability, and user enablement, complemented by light Power Platform development and early adoption of Microsoft Copilot capabilities. This is not a pure development role. It is ideal for someone who enjoys being the hands‑on owner of the M365 environment, has a good understanding of Power Apps and automation, and is keen to grow their skills in Copilot and AI‑assisted workplace tooling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Microsoft 365 administration (core focus)
    • Administer and support the Microsoft 365 tenant, including:
      • Exchange Online
      • Microsoft Teams
      • SharePoint Online
      • OneDrive for Business
      • Entra ID (Azure AD)
      • Endpoint and Intune management
    • Configure and maintain collaboration, sharing, retention and security settings in line with governance standards
    • Manage user access, licensing, group configuration and role assignments
    • Monitor service health, handle incidents, and coordinate vendor escalation where required
    • Plan and implement configuration changes arising from Microsoft roadmap updates
  • Power Platform – light build & support
    • Support and maintain existing Power Apps and Power Automate flows
    • Build simple to moderately complex Power Apps (typically forms, approvals, and workflow‑driven apps)
    • Assist with Dataverse or SharePoint‑based data models (not complex data engineering)
    • Apply basic Power Platform governance controls (environments, permissions, DLP policies)
    • Work with business teams to translate simple requirements into low‑code solutions
  • Copilot & modern workplace enablement
    • Assist with Microsoft 365 Copilot readiness, including:
      • permissions and access hygiene
      • data exposure awareness
      • configuration checks
    • Support early use cases for Copilot Studio / Copilot Agents under guidance
    • Help create guidance, controls and documentation to support safe and effective Copilot usage
    • Act as a technical point of contact for questions relating to Copilot in the digital workplace
  • User enablement & continuous improvement
    • Provide 2nd/3rd‑line support for M365 workplace tools
    • Collaborate with service desk and business teams to resolve recurring issues
    • Produce clear technical documentation and user guidance
    • Contribute ideas to improve productivity, standardisation and user experience across M365

About You

  • Hands‑on experience administering Microsoft 365 in a production environment
  • Practical knowledge of Teams, SharePoint Online, Exchange Online and Entra ID
  • Experience building or supporting Power Apps and Power Automate solutions
  • Understanding of basic Power Platform governance concepts
  • Comfortable working in an operational, business‑facing role
  • Clear communication skills and a structured, methodical working style

Desirable (not mandatory)

  • Exposure to Microsoft 365 Copilot and/or Copilot Studio
  • Familiarity with Dataverse
  • Experience working in a hybrid Microsoft environment (cloud + on‑prem)
  • Awareness of information security, data protection and access control principles
  • Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g. MS‑900, PL‑900, or similar)

What this role is not

To be explicit, this role is:

  • ❌ Not a full‑time developer position
  • ❌ Not a Power Platform architect role
  • ❌ Not a helpdesk / first‑line support role

It is a hands‑on, trusted workplace engineer role with scope to grow into deeper Power Platform or Copilot work over time.
