The East region are looking to recruit an Engineering Technician on a hybrid basis to join the team based in Falkirk. Reporting directly to the Senior Engineering Manager you will be responsible for creating technical drawings and plans for existing and future residential housing sites. From initial engineering appraisals to final design, you will support the engineering team by presenting their designs in the form of drawings.

Other key duties will include:

  • Liaising with site staff and the design team, representing the business in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Meeting agreed deadlines and ensuring outputs meet the required quality and consistency standards.
  • Adhering to health & safety regulations.
  • Liaising with statutory bodies to obtain relevant technical consents.
  • Attending internal design review meetings.
  • Assisting with the preparation of calculations.
  • Supporting the administration of projects.

About You

Experience in housebuilding is preferable, whether from an office or site background, with knowledge in both civil engineering and utilities. Structural engineering knowledge would also be preferable. You will be self-motivated with an eye for consistency and accuracy of information. Good document management habits will be required to ensure our construction teams are working with relevant and current information.

Ideally, you will hold an HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or an equivalent discipline and have a keen interest in drawing standards and administration. Proven experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office software is essential. Experience with design software such as PDS and PDS Flow would be advantageous.
