About The Role

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Assistant Marketing Manager is responsible for executing marketing strategies to generate the volume and quality of leads required to deliver sales and brand awareness in a challenging and dynamic market. You will copywrite and create marketing and PR materials using existing templates, update the Cala website and property portals, brief and proofread marketing materials, and commission photography for your region’s developments. You will also provide administrative support, attend marketing planning meetings, and liaise with marketing agencies on campaigns.

Development Marketing

  • Support sales rates by executing effective development marketing to the required brand standards, with support from Cala’s chosen media, marketing, signage, and marketing suite agencies.
  • Monitor data (sales rates, web traffic, enquiry levels, database marketing performance) to identify opportunities to refine messaging and media spend.
  • Collaborate with the Sales & Marketing Director, Sales Managers, and on-site Sales Teams to adjust messaging at development and plot level.
  • Brief and arrange approval of Computer-Generated Images (site plans, street scenes, flythroughs, aerial views, housetype images).
  • Brief and commission development photography.
  • Work with the commercial team to produce customer-facing specifications to highlight home features.
  • Brief and proofread digital brochures using standard templates, liaising with technical, land, construction, commercial, and sales teams to ensure accuracy.
  • Create and deploy database marketing campaigns (email and SMS).
  • Produce simple videos and advertisements using Cala’s brand hub templates and those provided by media agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with the Consumer Protection Act, National Trading Standards, and Cala guidelines in all marketing activity.
  • Copywrite and update development listings across the Cala website, property portals, and estate agent websites, highlighting USPs against competitors.
  • Apply SEO best practices to development pages using the appointed SEO platform.
  • Cancel media activity promptly at the end of the site sales period.
  • Work within Cala KPIs for cost per lead and cost per reservation.
  • Partner with PR and Social Media teams to maximise communications opportunities (organic social, blogs, press releases) throughout the development lifecycle.

Point of Sale Set-Up & Maintenance

  • Specify sales areas with technical and commercial teams using standard designs, ensuring delivery via signage and marketing suite subcontractors.
  • Brief landscapers to create show home gardens aligned with the target audience and Cala brand.
  • Create detailed briefs for interior designers to produce show homes aligned with the target audience and brand.
  • Work with tiling and kitchen manufacturers to select options for show homes and customer upgrades.
  • Arrange presentation materials showcasing customer upgrades in the sales suite.
  • Coordinate with construction, sales, commercial teams, signage, landscapers, interior designers, and agencies to ensure timely delivery of sales areas, show homes, landscaping, and signage.
  • Regularly visit sites to review the presentation of sales environments, ensuring signage is current and marketing plans are communicated to the sales team.

Brand Awareness & Reputation Management

  • Communicate Community Pledge activities to home buyers, land vendors, and community stakeholders.
  • Collaborate on Cala-wide Marcomms projects and asset creation to continually improve toolkits and systems.
  • Work with PR and Social Media teams to maximise communications (organic social, blogs, press releases) that strengthen Cala’s employer brand.
  • Act as a brand ambassador within your region, ensuring consistent use of Cala’s internal and external brand.

About You

Essential Knowledge & Experience:

  • Degree in Marketing or another relevant business studies field.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Excellent written, verbal, and listening skills.
  • Strong ability to draft professional communications.
  • High-level proofreading skills essential.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Knowledge & Experience:

  • Experience in the new homes industry in a sales or marketing role.
  • Knowledge of CMS systems (e.g., Umbraco) beneficial.
  • Experience with Salesforce advantageous.
  • Experience with email marketing platforms advantageous.
  • Experience with SEO platforms (e.g., BrightEdge)
