Cala Consulting is recruiting a Business Development Manager on behalf of a rapidly growing renewables company, offering innovative solutions in Solar PV, Battery Storage, and Heat Pumps.

The Role

As Business Development Manager, you will drive the company sales with a strong focus on acquiring new commercial clients across Northern Ireland. This is a key role for a proactive and results-driven professional with a proven ability in identifying opportunities, negotiating effectively, and closing deals. Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, you will work closely with internal teams and subcontractors to ensure seamless project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively generate leads and create new business opportunities through targeted outreach
  • Consistently close deals to meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual KPIs and revenue targets
  • Produce regular reports on sales forecasts, pipeline activity, and performance metrics
  • Directly sell a range of products
  • Manage and grow the customer accounts
  • Conduct thorough market research to identify key customers in relevant sectors and tailor your approach accordingly
  • Represent the company at industry trade shows and exhibitions, building brand visibility and showcasing product offerings
  • Develop an understanding of the competitive landscape and customer needs
  • Continuously expand your network and base of prospective clients

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Ideally 3 years experience in sales or business development within the renewable energy or technology sectors.
  • Experience working within Northern Ireland's SMEs and/or Enterprise markets.
  • A strong track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and driving business growth.
  • Exceptional customer focus, with the ability to collaborate across internal teams including product, service delivery, and pre-sales functions.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and business acumen.
  • Confident in delivering presentations to commercial customers.
