The Role
As Senior Commissioning Manager, you will take full responsibility for the planning, management, and delivery of commissioning activities across multiple projects, primarily in England. You will lead commissioning from early planning and pre-commissioning through to testing, witnessing, and final handover, working closely with clients, contractors, design teams, and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage commissioning activities across complex building services projects
- Develop and implement commissioning plans, programmes, and documentation
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety, statutory and client requirements
- Coordinate commissioning teams, subcontractors, and specialists on site
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients during commissioning phases
- Support project delivery to programme, quality, and budget expectations
- Mentor junior commissioning managers and support team development
- Contribute to continuous improvement and best practice across the business
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in a Senior Commissioning Manager or similar role
- Strong mechanical building services background (essential)
- Experience delivering commissioning on complex or regulated projects
- Comfortable with regular UK travel if Belfast based (approx. 3 days per week in England)
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Commercially aware and solutions-focused
- Ambition to grow with the business and take on greater responsibility
