ABOUT US: Cakewalk is the most easy-to-use and powerful Identity Governance platform designed for fast-moving companies. We help busy IT & security teams save 80% of their time spent managing access while increasing security and staying ahead of regulatory requirements.

How? Cakewalk enables you to consolidate all access, apps, and AI agents, fully automate workflows, and get guidance based on insights—enabling your teams while reducing your attack surface. We’re backed by Seedcamp, Kindred Capital, Vertex, Fly and some of Europe’s sharpest operators. Our customers include fast-growing, security-conscious companies who need a scalable way to manage risk, save money and stay compliant without the complexity of legacy tools.

The Role: This isn’t your typical SDR leadership role. You’ll be Cakewalk’s first Sales Development Team Lead—a hybrid player and coach who builds pipeline through hands-on execution, coaches SDRs in real time and co-creates the outbound GTM infrastructure with the CRO. You’ll thrive here if you’re someone who loves figuring things out, values action over process and wants a leadership path defined by impact, not time in seat or by the number of direct reports. You’ll work directly with our CEO, CRO, Growth Marketing Lead and co-founders to bring consistency and scale to our top-of-funnel motion. Please note that this position will require 3 days a week in our central London office. While we appreciate the flexibility that remote work brings, we believe in-person work will accelerate learnings and enable us to crystallise our culture and build an iconic company faster.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Outbound Execution: Personally execute outbound campaigns across email, phone and LinkedIn. Build and convert your own pipeline of high-fit mid-market prospects. Work with CRO and CEO to set up high-quality intro calls that convert.
  • Live Coaching: Shadow and coach our SDR to improve outbound execution and results. Run call reviews and coaching sessions. Give real-time feedback that helps reps level up quickly.
  • GTM System Building: Help design outbound systems including ICP briefs, sequences and playbooks. Set up and optimize our tooling (Clay, Zapier, ChatGPT, Cognism). Test new channels and tactics, then scale what works.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with CEO, CRO and Growth Lead to sharpen our GTM strategy. Feed insights from the field back into product and marketing. Work closely with the founders to turn outbound into a growth engine.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • 2+ years of SDR work, consistently hitting quota and generating outbound pipeline in a SaaS startup.
  • Experience coaching or mentoring SDRs with a team-first mindset.
  • Comfortable using tools like Clay, ChatGPT, Hubspot, Cognism, Salesloft.
  • Gritty and adaptable—you make progress even when things are messy or unclear.
  • Think strategically but love to execute. Feedback-hungry and driven by growth, not just promotion; interest in pursuing a long-term GTM career in the SaaS industry.
  • [Optional] Have technical skills to build the GTM infrastructure alongside the CRO and CPO.

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?

  • Career acceleration: You won’t be in the front row, you will be in the driver seat at a young, but growing venture-backed startup and will have access to the Leadership team and our network, including our investors. Cakewalk succeeds when you do.
  • Shared ownership: Being a part of our journey early on means you'll own a meaningful amount of Cakewalk. You are part of the foundation of our company - your contribution makes a difference and matters.
  • Development: Training, coaching, and an environment that promotes career ambition and progression with direct exposure to our leadership team.

OUR PRINCIPLES:

  • Simplicity first
  • Everyone sells Cakewalk
  • Think, Do, Say it as it is

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:

  • An environment where strong reasoning and execution matter, not titles.
  • A forward-thinking team that challenges the status quo in security and is obsessed with product AND sales.
  • People who are brilliant in their fields, combined with strong grit and self-reflection.
  • Teammates who support each other so everyone can contribute their best.
  • Founders who have a genuine interest in their people, love to build long-term relationships and aim to support all Cakewalkers to grow as professionals and individuals.
