Cakesmiths, the UK's leading baker of innovative and award-winning traybakes and cake, are looking for a National Account Manager to join our growing Bristol-based team. 

Specialising in the coffee shop sector, Cakesmiths have and continue to rapidly expand. Due to our continual growth, we are looking for a passionate and caring individual to become an integral part of our Commercial team.

You’ll be focused on introducing Cakesmiths and our cakes, bakes and desserts to new end-user accounts restaurant groups, breweries, QSRs, and contract caterers who share our values and see the value in the cakes we bake.

You’ll be responsible for finding the right opportunities, telling our story in a way that resonates, and working closely with potential customers to create something that works commercially and creatively. It’s about building relationships that last and setting the stage for long-term success on both sides.

Accountabilities – or “What you have to do”

  • Identifying and reaching out to aligned national accounts, restaurant groups, pubs/breweries, QSR brands, and contract caterers.
  • Using your knowledge of the foodservice sector and your existing network to open doors and start meaningful conversations.
  • Leading the full sales journey from first chat to product tasting, pitch, negotiation, and handover to our brilliant accounts team.
  • Working closely with NPD, operations and marketing to shape bespoke proposals that meet customer needs and reflect our values.
  • Representing Cakesmiths at tastings, meetings, and key industry events.
  • Keeping a clear, well-managed pipeline in HubSpot and sharing regular progress updates with the Head of National Accounts.
  • Making sure the customer experience is thoughtful, smooth and reflective of how we do things.
  • Managing the P&L for new business accounts.
  • Developing and implementing sales strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets.
  • Coordinating with the Head of Supply Chain & Logistics to ensure timely delivery of products and resolution of any issues.
  • Tracking and analysing sales performance metrics to measure progress against goals.

Essential Qualities

  • A natural connector with experience and contacts in the foodservice sector especially restaurant groups, breweries, QSR, hotels and caterers.
  • Thoughtful and curious someone who listens, understands what customers need, and responds with solutions that make sense.
  • Commercially aware and confident negotiating deals, without being pushy or transactional.
  • Someone who understands how to align a brand with the right customers, not just any customers.
  • A safe pair of hands you're organised, reliable, and can be trusted to represent Cakesmiths in the best possible way.
  • Comfortable working independently but always ready to collaborate and share ideas.
  • Experience using a CRM like HubSpot and a methodical approach to managing your pipeline.
