This role is all about helping Cakesmiths give more than cake to our coffee shop customers. It’s about offering a range of brands that complement our cakes and that work with our brand and our customers’ needs, serving up useful insights, and creating strong relationships through joined-up creative collaborations.
You’ll look after our branded pantry partners, find new brands we’d love to work with, and help turn insight into campaigns and collaborations. You’ll be thinking about what coffee shops need to have on the counter, how demand shifts through the year(s), and how we plan activities that make commercial sense.
You’ll be just as happy talking numbers and forecasting demand as you are talking flavours, formats and trends, and you’ll enjoy working closely with brand partners, NPD, Sales and the wider team to make good ideas happen.
What you’ll be doing day to day:
- Build and manage strong relationships with our pantry partners.
- Spot new partnership opportunities that make sense for coffee shops and our range.
- Forecast sales and demand for pantry lines, working closely with Sales, Ecommerce, and NPD.
- Plan seasonal promotions, launches and campaigns with partners, thinking ahead about volumes, timing and impact.
- Lead commercial conversations around pricing, margins and promotional mechanics.
- Review what worked (and what didn’t) and use that insight to plan the next round.
Category insight & trends:
- Stay close to the coffee shop world. Get out to trade shows, events and coffee shops to understand what’s selling, what’s shifting and what customers are responding to.
- Keep an eye on flavours, formats and wider food and drink trends, turning what you’re seeing into clear, useful insight for the business.
- Own our Counterculture trend report and help shape how we talk about trends with our customers.
Supporting Sales & the wider team:
- Work closely with Sales to support key accounts and day-to-day needs.
- Be a connector between Marketing and Sales, supporting the Sales team, and turning ideas into creative briefs.
About you:
You’re curious about coffee shops, out-of-home food and drinks, and are interested in what makes people buy. You’re commercially aware and confident having numbers-led conversations. And you enjoy collaboration and getting things done.
