Company Stage Manager - Touring Theatre Production (2026 UK Tour) in Liverpool

CAJ Productions Ltd is seeking a highly organised, dependable, and people-focused Company Stage Manager (CSM) for our 2026 national tour, \”The Forbidden Realm of Conspiracies: Uncovered.\”

This is a professional, immersive touring theatre production combining live storytelling, projection, and sound design – performing at 30+ theatres across the UK between March and November 2026.

The Company Stage Manager will be the heart of the tour – the person who keeps everything running smoothly, keeps the team connected, and maintains a positive, professional atmosphere from start to finish.

We\’re looking for someone who not only has strong stage management and touring experience, but who genuinely cares about the show, the company, and the people around them. Someone who wants to be part of something bigger, working with a show that\’s bold, original, and thought-provoking.

A genuine interest in conspiracy theories, psychology, or critical thinking would be a bonus

Responsibilities:

• . Oversee all logistical and operational aspects of the touring production.
• . Liaise directly with each venue to confirm schedules, access, and technical requirements.
• . Manage get-ins, get-outs, and daily show calls.
• . Coordinate with the Lighting/Sound Technician and Presenter to ensure smooth performances.
• . Maintain accurate show reports, schedules, and contact lists.
• . Ensure health & safety compliance and complete venue risk assessments.
• . Support the producer with tour planning and daily management.
• . Recruit and brief two local volunteers per city to perform the \’masked actor\’ roles at each venue.
• . Check in with all team members after each show to ensure everyone\’s okay and has what they need.
• . Maintain team morale and professionalism throughout the tour.
• . Handle issues calmly and take accountability rather than deflecting responsibility.
• . Occasionally drive the touring van between venues (shared responsibility).
• . Represent CAJ Productions professionally at all venues and public interactions.
• . Be flexible, proactive, and willing to get hands-on when needed.

Requirements:

• . 21+ years old (for insurance and driving eligibility).
• . Full UK driving licence held for at least 5 years.
• . Proven experience as a Company Stage Manager on a professional production (touring experience preferred).
• . Excellent organisational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
• . Calm and solution-focused under pressure.
• . Respectful, polite, and well-mannered in all communications.
• . Confident leading a team without being a micro-manager – we value collaboration, not control.
• . Reliable, accountable, and emotionally intelligent.
• . Comfortable with travel, overnight stays, and flexible touring schedules.
• . Ideally someone with a genuine curiosity or enthusiasm for thought-provoking subjects like media, psychology, and conspiracy culture.

Contract Details:

• Freelance / Self-Employed Contract
• Fee: £150–£170 per show (depending on experience)
• All accommodation, travel, and per diems covered
• Rehearsals: February 2026 (Liverpool base)
• Tour: March-May & September-November 2026
• Approx. 2–3 shows per week across the UK
