Responsibilities
- Design and develop electronic circuits and systems, including analogue, digital, and power electronics.
- Develop and optimise battery management systems (BMS) and associated control electronics.
- Produce schematic designs and PCB layouts using industry-standard CAD tools.
- Conduct simulation, analysis, and validation of electronic designs.
- Support prototype builds, testing, and debugging activities.
- Generate and maintain technical documentation (design specs, test procedures, reports).
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g. IEC, ISO, defence standards where applicable).
- Collaborate with software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to ensure integrated system performance.
- Support design reviews, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Skills & Experience
- 3+ years of experience within an electronics business.
- Degree in Electronic Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Proven experience in electronic design (analogue, digital, or power electronics).
- Strong understanding of circuit design, component selection, and system integration.
- Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (e.g. Altium, OrCAD, KiCad).
- Familiarity with test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators).
- Knowledge of embedded systems and microcontroller-based design.
- Ability to troubleshoot and debug complex electronic systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience with battery technologies and battery management systems.
- Knowledge of safety-critical or regulated environments (defence, aerospace, medical).
- Experience with EMC/EMI design and testing.
- Familiarity with embedded C/C++ or firmware development.
- Understanding of functional safety standards (e.g. IEC 61508).
- Experience with environmental testing and ruggedised system design.

- Full-time hours: Monday-Friday 8am – 5pm, Friday 8am to 12.30pm.
