Position: Graduate Electronics Engineer – Permanent – Thurso. Salary: TBA, Candidate dependant.

With 20 years of expertise in designing and manufacturing batteries from our base in Thurso, Scotland, we proudly serve blue chip customers in defence, security, aerospace, oil and gas, and renewables markets.
Key responsibilities:
- Assist in the design and development of electronic circuits and systems (analog, digital, and power electronics)
- Support battery management system (BMS) development and testing
- Contribute to schematic capture and PCB layout activities
- Participate in prototype assembly, testing, and debugging
- Conduct basic simulations and analysis under supervision
- Assist in preparation of technical documentation (reports, test procedures, design records)
- Support verification and validation testing of products
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including software, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers
- Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement activities
Essential skills & experience:
- Degree (BEng/MEng) in Electronic Engineering or related discipline
- Fundamental understanding of electronic principles (analog and digital circuits)
- Basic knowledge of PCB design and electronic CAD tools
- Familiarity with standard lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.)
- Understanding of embedded systems and microcontrollers (academic or project‑based)
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- Willingness to learn and develop in a professional engineering environment
Desirable skills & experience:
- Academic or project experience in battery systems or power electronics
- Exposure to PCB design tools (e.g., Altium, KiCad, OrCAD)
- Basic programming experience (C/C++ or Python)
- Knowledge of electronic testing and debugging techniques
- Understanding of industry standards and engineering best practices
