Job Description
Working within CDPQ London’s Private equity team, the selected candidate is an integral part of the deal team, supporting it on new LBO investments as well as with portfolio company monitoring. They have the opportunity to thrive in a collaborative, informal and dynamic cultural environment of high performers.
As an Associate, the selected candidate will collaborate with less experienced analysts and lead them when necessary. Therefore, they must demonstrate the experience, maturity, and critical thinking necessary to begin managing and coordinating different workflows with internal and external stakeholders.
What You Will Do

  • Participate in the evaluation of potential investment opportunities and contribute to the preparation of preliminary analyses and investment recommendation documents;
  • Support the directors by preparing financial models, valuation analyses, and business model reviews with great attention to detail;
  • Contribute to the preparation of internal reports within agreed timelines;
  • Thoroughly review companies\’ financial reports and perform comparable analyses;
  • Support the directors in preparing and organizing discussions and meetings with partners, both inside and outside CDPQ;
  • Continuously research key topics and trends in targeted sectors: proactively follow the news and gather information from key sources;
  • Coordinate workstreams with external parties and rigorously follow up with them on each workflow during live processes;
  • Coordinate and help manage CDPQ\’s internal teams working alongside the Private equity team (e.g., the internal tax, ESG, and legal affairs teams);
  • Support analysts in their tasks and their analyses (both in Excel and PowerPoint), and review their work as needed;
  • Actively support the preparation of analyses on potential targets or market segments that the team wishes to investigate and present highlights to directors;
  • Produce value-added analyses for monitored portfolio companies, advise directors on major market trends and operational changes and produce the required portfolio company review documents for CDPQ\’s internal monitoring.

What You Bring

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in investment banking and/or private equity;
  • An undergraduate degree in finance, economics, or accounting;
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered;
  • Excellent skills in financial analysis, particularly in leveraged buyout (LBO) modeling;
  • Excellent proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Mastery of French and English, both spoken and written;
  • Legally authorized to work in the United Kingdom;
  • Willingness to travel abroad.
