Cairngorm Mountain is recruiting Lift Operators to support the safe and efficient operation of its surface lift network. This role suits confident skiers or snowboarders who enjoy outdoor, hands-on work and take safety, teamwork, and customer experience seriously.

The role:

  • You will operate surface lifts including T bar, Poma, and Magic Carpet lifts in line with safety and operational procedures.
  • You will assist customers of varying abilities when loading and unloading, providing clear and calm instructions.
  • You will maintain lift queues, loading areas, and surrounding terrain in a safe, tidy, and welcoming condition.
  • You will monitor lift operations, weather conditions, and lift status, communicating clearly via two-way radio.
  • You will assist with snow clearing and preparation around lift stations, buildings, and along the funicular track.
  • You will respond appropriately to lift stoppages, incidents, or emergencies, following established procedures.
  • You will support wider mountain operations, including general snow management and site maintenance tasks.

Working pattern:

This is a seasonal role operating across a seven-day week. Early starts, variable hours, and working in adverse weather conditions are part of the role. Full-time seasonal positions are available, with flexibility considered where possible.

What we are looking for:

  • You will be an intermediate level skier or snowboarder as a minimum.
  • You will be safety conscious, reliable, and comfortable working outdoors in a physically demanding mountain environment.
  • You will have good communication skills and a calm, professional manner with customers.
  • You will be able to follow procedures and work to operational guidelines.
  • You will work well as part of a close-knit team and independently when required.
  • Previous customer-facing experience is helpful but not essential.

Full lift operation and safety training will be provided.
