We are seeking a Chef to help us develop and modernise our restaurant. Passionate about Scottish seasonal produce, using the best ingredients creatively to provide a wonderful experience for loyal locals and a healthy tourist trade in a gastropub setting.

Duties:

  • Prepare, cook, and present a variety of dishes to order.
  • Design seasonal menus using local produce.
  • Assume ordering and stock control duties.
  • Work effectively with our small team.
  • Maintain strict adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen at all times.
  • Lead by example in delivering excellent hospitality and service standards.

Essential qualities:

  • Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment.
  • An excellent team worker with strong communication skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation skills.
  • Strong understanding of food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.

The Cairn Hotel is a celebrated Highland inn, set in prime position in the Cairngorm National Park. With a 60 seat restaurant, we are the community hub for Carrbridge. We benefit from a strong tourist trade during the main season and occasionally enjoy some outside catering, street food, or other interesting opportunities, mainly to provide a bit of variety for our team.

We have benefitted from having a very loyal Chef team who have been with us for many years, but we can now present a rare opportunity to lead our restaurant offering to the next level. The successful candidate will work well with the owner/operator to help us offer consistently excellent food, presented well, ensuring our team deliver each plate with pride.

Pay: £32,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
