Cain Bio Engineering (CBE) are looking for River Operatives to deliver waterway projects within the south of England (often within Hampshire, Wiltshire, Berkshire) and occasionally further afield across the country.
Our ideal candidate would be a hardworking capable individual with a passion for the environment and some previous groundwork or labouring experience.

CBE is a specialist aquatic engineering firm using unique environmentally friendly solutions for river restoration, pond/lake enhancement and erosion control projects for a wide range of private and public sector clients.
As a River Operative you would work on a range of waterways providing habitat improvements whilst gaining practical experience with on the job learning and exposure to a variety of work techniques.
You would be working as part of a small friendly team in some of the most beautiful landscapes in the country.
Training, including use of plant (e. g. dumper), equipment or chainsaw use, will be provided based on individual requirements.

Duties
- Undertaking a variety of construction site roles, working outdoors throughout the year, including in river work using waders/life jacket/dry suits.
- Working with and around heavy plant and machinery.
- Vegetation clearance (including tree surgery if applicable tickets held).
- Working around sensitive wildlife habitats and creating improved habitats within the aquatic environment to provide sustainable, long lasting builds and environmental benefits.
- Complying with Health & Safety protocols onsite.
- Criteria
- A full UK driving license preferred.
- Must be a competent swimmer.
- Physically fit.
- Occasional stay aways during the week if required (accommodation and allowance provided).
- The following would be beneficial but not essential
- Previous construction machinery use and any relevant plant tickets.
- Chainsaw accreditation.
Excellent salary dependent on suitability and experience/tickets held.
This is a full time, permanent position.
