About Us:
Opened in 2022 by Tim Lang and Rishabh Veer Vir, Caia is a restaurant, wine bar and listening space in the heart of Notting Hill. Built around a love of hospitality, music and culture, Caia is known for its warm atmosphere, produce-driven food, thoughtful drinks and carefully curated soundtrack. In 2025, Caia enters a new chapter with chef John Javier leading the kitchen, evolving the menu with bold flavours and open-fire cooking while staying true to the spirit that made the restaurant resonate from the beginning. Our ambition is to create one of London's most exciting and culturally relevant hospitality destinations, a place guests return to as much for the feeling as for the food, drink and music.
Primary Purpose of the Role
To deliver an exceptional dining experience by providing attentive, knowledgeable, passionate and proactive service, ensuring operational excellence at all times while contributing to team performance and guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Pre-Service Responsibilities
- Complete opening/deep clean checklists
- Confirm reservations and guest count with Host or Manager.
- Review 7Rooms guest profiles to anticipate preferences and notes.
- Set up assigned section.
- Organize and stock waiter station.
- Ensure restrooms meet cleanliness standards.
- Prepare one pairing for daily briefing (1 wine or cocktail, 1 dish, 1 interesting fact).
- During Service
- Deliver service according to established steps of service.
- Demonstrate full product knowledge (menu, allergens, beverages).
- Maintain ownership of assigned section.
- Monitor guest satisfaction.
- Support colleagues proactively during peak times.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout service.
- Average spend per guest aligned with restaurant targets.
- Upselling contribution (wine, cocktails, specials).
- Pairing recommendations executed during briefing reflected in service.
- Proactive support outside assigned section (observational assessment).
- Participation in daily briefing and debrief (100% attendance unless excused).
- Effective communication with kitchen and bar (minimal service delays attributed to FOH).
- Post-Service Responsibilities
- Complete closing checklist thoroughly.
- Cover runner duties if necessary.
- Reset section and station for next shift.
- Participate in nightly team debrief.
