An outstanding opportunity to join an established UK company who are focused on RF/EMC shielded environments. Working within the Operational side of the business you will be responsible for the full control of the design process for each assigned project. You will also ensure each design is within the legal framework defined by each contract, taking account of the geographical, political, legal, and cultural differences of each country.
Responsibilities:
- Support the design team with production of drawings depending on workflow and assist as required.
- Maintain and support a drawing register and be able to transfer information from detailed design drawings into a bill of materials.
- Be responsible for the drawing register, accurate revisions, and issue control records to ensure correct production and installation.
- In conjunction with the Commercial and Projects team, provide support in proposal production and produce sales drawings and other information or renders as required and sign off all key documentation to ensure each contract is in line with customer requirements and specifications.
- Have direct communication, which may require site visits and overseas travel, to ensure the customer has complete visibility concerning the design parameters to ensure accurate design specification and agree the final designs.
- In conjunction with Commercial and Project management team, ensure each contract meets customers’ specifications and requirements.
- Provide guidance to the internal team and other departmental meetings to ensure that design work is communicated and passed to design team correctly and accurately and providing technical support as required.
- In conjunction with the commercial team and the design team, support the research and development strategy for the company.
- Support the Operations Director with the Annual Research and development projects.
- Provide support for the manufacturing team with technical support and development as required within the realms of continuous development and improvements in chambers and associated parts and assemblies.
- Provide support for the projects team, ensuring that they have adequate technical support for each project.
- Support the responsible lead design engineer with the methodology for each project and consult with the sub-contractors for each project to ensure the correct design and implementation of each project is agreed and understood by all parties.
- Consult with 3rd party suppliers and the purchasing manager to ensure the technical specifications are fully compliant and agreed for each contract, and the correct purchasing of products is undertaken.
- Be responsible for and comply with the ISO9001 2015 standards at all times.
The Person:
- Experience with design software tools such as AutoCAD or Solidworks is essential.
- Previous experience in steel fabrication design.
- Previous experience in panel work and large door design.
- Previous experience in pneumatic or electrical automation.
- An understanding of EMC/RF.
- Good communication skills.
- UK National.
- Willing to be SC Cleared.
- Willing to travel UK and worldwide.
- Clean driving licence.
- Good IT skills and competence.
