We are actively seeking an experienced and highly skilled Machinery Engineer to join our dynamic team. At our company, we prioritize delivering excellence in the design, modification, and testing of machinery and equipment vital to our operations. The successful candidate will assume a critical role in ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and elevating the safety and efficiency of our machinery.

Main Purpose of Role:

  • Conduct thorough inspection, testing, and conformity assessments to ensure compliance with CE/UKCA machinery regulations, encompassing Machinery Directive 2006/42EC, The Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 (as amended), and Harmonised/Designated Standards (A-type, B-type, C-type).
  • Execute certification activities for machinery under Approved Body schemes, adhering to ISO/IEC 17065:2012 accredited QMS standards.
  • Perform PUWER 98 assessments directly at client premises, offering detailed reporting and suggesting corrective actions to address any identified issues.
  • Provide client-facing services at a national, EU-wide, and global level, aligning with the standards and requirements outlined by the Machinery Department.
  • Ensure meticulous documentation of all inspection, testing, and assessment activities, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and internal quality management systems.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to facilitate seamless execution of inspection, testing, and certification processes.
  • Stay updated on relevant industry developments, regulatory changes, and best practices to continuously enhance service delivery and ensure adherence to the latest standards and regulations.
  • Uphold a commitment to professionalism, integrity, and excellence in all interactions and deliverables, fostering strong client relationships and promoting the reputation of the company.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Demonstrate proficiency in comprehending and applying Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and The Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 (as amended), as well as standards such as EN ISO 12100, EN 60204-1, EN ISO 13849-1, EN ISO 4413/EN ISO 4414, and key A,B,C-type standards.
  • Exhibit knowledge of PUWER 98/UWED regulations, ensuring adherence to legal requirements regarding the use of work equipment and machinery.
  • Possess the ability to interpret a variety of technical schematics, including electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics, along with P&ID and engineering drawings, to facilitate effective communication and understanding of machinery systems.
  • Utilize extensive experience in using a diverse range of test and measuring equipment for electrical and mechanical validation purposes, ensuring accurate and reliable assessment of machinery performance and safety compliance.

Desirable:

  • Demonstrate a proven track record of previous employment within an industrial environment, showcasing hands-on experience with a wide array of machinery and associated equipment, with a particular focus on safety-related systems and protocols.
  • Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of additional key EU Directives and UK Regulations beyond machinery regulations, including but not limited to Pressure Equipment Directive (PED), Explosive Atmospheres Directive (ATEX), Low Voltage Directive (LVD), and Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive (EMC).
  • Possess familiarity with wiring regulation BS 7271, ensuring compliance with electrical wiring standards and protocols within industrial settings to enhance safety and reliability.
