Role Description

This is a freelance role for a Canoe Guide working with CAG Adventures. The Canoe Guide will lead and facilitate paddling experiences, ensuring participants\’ safety and enjoyment. Responsibilities include trip planning, conducting safety briefings, assessing weather and water conditions, and delivering engaging paddling instruction while adhering to safety protocols. Professionalism and strong communication skills are essential to provide exceptional customer experiences. This is a flexible role with the freedom to work remotely, depending on the location of activities.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in canoeing, with relevant paddlesport certifications or equivalent experience (minimum BCAB Paddlesport Touring Leader (assessed in canoe))
• Experience in outdoor guiding, coaching, or adventure-based instruction
• Strong knowledge of water safety procedures and first aid skills (certification in first aid is required)
• Ability to communicate effectively and work with individuals from diverse backgrounds
• Self-motivated and adaptable with excellent organisational and planning skills
• Reliable access to necessary equipment and the ability to work in various outdoor environments
• A passion for sharing the outdoors with others and fostering positive learning experiences
