We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Head of Technical to lead our technical functions and help shape the next chapter of our business. This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to the Managing Director, with responsibility for food safety, quality, compliance, sustainability, customer relationships, and technical strategy across the business.
What you will be doing:
- Member of the UK Leadership team, helping to set company strategy and operational standards.
- Represent the UK within the wider Cafea Group Technical Management Team.
- Lead and develop a technical team of seven specialists.
- Act as the senior technical contact for customers, suppliers, and key stakeholders.
- Ensure the highest standards of food safety, quality, and compliance.
- Drive continuous improvement and technical excellence across the business.
- Oversee our sustainability and ethical sourcing commitments.
- Work closely with colleagues in the UK and Germany across Commercial, Supply Chain and Operations to support business growth.
What we are looking for:
- Significant food technical experience, preferably within a food manufacturing environment.
- Proven leadership experience, developing team and talent.
- Strong customer-facing and stakeholder management skills.
- A passion for quality, food safety, and continuous improvement.
- Commercial awareness, good financial acumen, and strategic thinking capability.
- The confidence to influence, challenge and inspire at all levels of the organisation.
- A degree or other higher education qualification in a relevant scientific discipline would be advantageous.
