We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior SACT nurse to join their team at Clatterbridge Liverpool to work with the breast MDT to lead the implementation of a new clinical model for review of CDK4 inhibitors. This is a fixed‑term, part‑time post, 28.5 hours for 23 months.
Working Pattern: 3 days a week, 28.5 hours, Monday – Friday.
The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK’s leading providers of non‑surgical cancer treatment, caring for a population of 2.4 million people across Cheshire & Merseyside, North Wales, the Isle of Man and parts of Lancashire. Our flagship specialist cancer hospital in Liverpool opened in June 2020, supported by our hospital on the Clatterbridge Health Park in Wirral, providing outpatient cancer treatment and supportive care, and our radiotherapy treatment centre on the Aintree Hospital site. We work with leading experts from The University of Liverpool and the Cancer Research UK Liverpool Cancer Trials Unit to deliver novel treatments and techniques that provide more effective and personalised care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the team in a leadership role, providing clinical oversight of systemic anticancer treatment delivery.
- Educate and assess junior staff in SACT practices.
- Participate in the implementation of the new CDK4 inhibitor review model.
- Undertake cross‑cover duties across our peripheral sites during and after training.
Training: Embark on a dual training programme in Oncology and Haematology systemic anticancer treatments, with required cross‑cover across the following sites:
- CCC Liverpool
- CCC Aintree
- CCC Southport
- CCC Wirral
- CCC Chester
- CCC Halton
- CCC Private Unit Wirral
- CCC Private Unit Liverpool
- Clatterbridge in the Community
Qualifications:
- Band 6 SACT‑trained nurse.
- Full SACT training and relevant SACT experience.
- High motivation and willingness to undergo further training in Haematology and chemotherapy fields.
