Assistant Service Manager – Private Law (Maidstone)
We are recruiting for the role of Assistant Service Manager in our Work to First Hearing Private Law team covering the Maidstone area. Our teams work flexibly and remotely; proximity to the office is not a critical consideration.
Role Overview
As an Assistant Service Manager you will manage a team of Family Court Advisers and ensure high‑quality practice in Private Law cases. Through your own reflective and supervisory practice you will champion the values of our relationship‑based framework Together with Children and Families.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and supervise a team of Family Court Advisers.
- Provide high‑quality reflective case supervision and uphold safeguarding standards.
- Maintain team morale, resilience and wellbeing.
- Communicate effectively in writing and verbally, displaying emotional intelligence at all levels.
- Ensure consistent application of our practice framework and core values.
Qualifications & Experience
- Registered with Social Work England.
- Organised, resilient and experienced in supervising, coaching or mentoring social workers.
- Strong communication skills with demonstrated emotional intelligence.
- Experience in a managerial role within a social work or similar setting.

Salary
£52,090 – 53,176 per annum (subject to confirmation of 2025/26 award).
