Overview

We are hiring Children’s Social Workers for our Private / Public Law and/or WAFH teams. In the Private/Public Law teams, Children’s Social Workers (or Family Court Advisers) handle a mixture of cases where families need assistance to agree on the best arrangements for the welfare and safety of the child(ren) or where the local authority raises serious concerns and requests Cafcass involvement.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments and directly engage with children to understand and represent their views and wishes to the court.
  • Use robust risk assessment and mediation expertise to advocate for arrangements prioritising the best interest of the children.

Qualifications

  • Relevant Social Work qualification is essential.
  • You must be registered with Social Work England (Cafcass reimburses costs of this annual cost).
  • You will have demonstrable, relevant experience of working with children and families in a social work setting.
  • Experience in Family Court proceedings and understanding of Private and/or Public Law would be an advantage.
  • You are organised and resilient with the ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.

Location

Our teams work flexibly and remotely. Offices are in Bristol, Swindon, Reading, and Oxford, but proximity to these locations is not essential. We are happy to discuss your preferred working arrangements during the interview process.
