We are recruiting for a Business Service Officer on a fixed‑term basis until 31st March 2026 in our Derby office. About the role

As a Business Services Officer, you will contribute to the effective and efficient management and progression of cases, providing administrative support to Local Family Court Advisers and Service Managers. Your tasks will include:

  • Monitoring case progression
  • Receiving referrals from the Court or Cafcass Intake Team
  • Creating, updating and closing cases within our case management system
  • Sending letters and information packs to service users
  • Identifying missing information and following up as required
  • Receiving and dealing with telephone enquiries
  • Meeting and greeting visitors, including service users
  • General administrative support

Qualifications

  • A relevant qualification in business administration (e.g. NVQ2), a willingness to work towards a qualification and/or significant experience in a similar role
  • Confident and capable of using MS Office applications to a basic or intermediate level
  • Clear, confident communicator via email, phone and in person
  • Someone who thrives working in a team
  • Able to prioritise work in a fast‑moving environment with strict deadlines
