Assistant Service Manager – Flexible London Location

We are recruiting for the role of Assistant Service Manager in our Private Law team covering the Croydon or Grays Inn Road area. The role is part of a team based from our office in Croydon or Grays Inn Road. It requires regular travel to the Croydon office. We trust and empower colleagues to work in a hybrid way, providing the resources, equipment, and support for individuals and teams to be the voice of children and young people when the family court makes critical decisions about their futures.

About the role

As an Assistant Service Manager you will manage a team of Family Court Advisers and ensure high-quality reflective case supervision. You will uphold the values and core practice of our practice framework, “Together with Children and Families”. You will safeguard and protect the welfare of children, provide support to colleagues to meet safeguarding practice standards, and account for your own practice and the quality of the practice standards of the Family Court Advisers you directly manage.

What we’re looking for

  • Registered with Social Work England.
  • Organised, resilient, and experienced in supervising, coaching, or mentoring social workers.
  • Excellent communicator, both oral and written, with emotional intelligence, especially when interacting with children.
  • Ability to promote resilience and wellbeing at work, maintain morale, and confidently manage employees with a wide range of professional experience.
