We’re recruiting an Administration Assistant working within our team based in Derby. Our Administrative Assistants — professionally known as Business Service Officers — play a vital role. As a Business Services Officer you will contribute to the effective and efficient management and progression of cases, providing administrative support to the Local Family Court Advisers and Service Managers.

Your tasks will include:

  • Monitoring case progression
  • Receiving referrals from the Court or Cafcass Intake Team
  • Creating / updating / closing cases within our case management system
  • Sending letters and information packs to children and families
  • Identifying any missing information and following up as required
  • Receiving and dealing with telephone enquiries
  • Meeting and greeting visitors, including children and families
  • General admin support
  • Completing office-based health and safety checks including first aid and fire marshal duties (training will be provided)

Requirements:

  • A relevant qualification in business administration (e.g. NVQ2), a willingness to work towards a qualification and/or significant experience in a similar role
  • Confident and capable of using MS Office applications to a basic / intermediate level
  • Clear, confident communicator via email, phone and in person
  • Someone who thrives working in a team
  • Able to prioritise work in a fast-moving environment with strict deadlines

We are recruiting for a Business Services Officer in our team covering the Derby area. In this role you will play a key role in supporting our teams and colleagues when they are in the office, like our Social Workers seeing children and families, or our teams being together for team meetings or supervision. Therefore, whilst you will benefit from working flexibly, including some remote working, you will also be required to be in the Derby office on a regular basis.

If you join us you can expect to have regular 1:1 time with your manager, especially during your induction, and again there will be a balance between doing this remotely and in-person so you have both flexibility and opportunities to form connections.
