We are looking for a practical, hands-on Multi skilled maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) with strong electrical experience to carry out day-to-day maintenance activities on site. This role focuses on installation, preventative and reactive maintenance, fault finding, and continuous improvement of electrical infrastructure, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and company standards. HV experience is highly desirable (Training can be provided to the right candidate).
Key Responsibilities- Carry out electrical installations and minor mechanical installations and repairs.
- Become the site’s electrical lead (AP) for both LV & HV.
- Carry out planned maintenance inspections of plant and facilities as required, both electrical and mechanical.
- Perform emergency lighting checks, compressed air checks and fire extinguisher checks.
- Feedback on completed checks, including any remedial action required.
- Perform preventative and reactive maintenance, both electrical and mechanical.
- Manage the CMMS system to deploy the PM plan.
- Diagnose and repair faults efficiently to minimise downtime.
- Manage specialist contractors on site as required, including issuing permits.
- Support plant upgrades, either by proposing or executing small projects.
- Take part in the site’s Daily Tiers meetings and provide the right level of support.
- Project management using Management of Change.
- Provide out-of-hours support where required.
- Provide cover for the Maintenance Manager when they are unavailable.
- Oversee engineering works out of hours, electrical isolations, and contractor management.
- Undertake smaller projects as and when required by the Maintenance Manager.
- Investigate HSE matters and advise actions accordingly.
- Supervise multiple teams of contractors simultaneously.
- Approve contractor risk assessments as suitable for work to proceed.
- Issue permits for work to commence.
- Drive a MEWP (IPAF class 3A and 3B).
- Drive a crane (desirable).
- Inspect and tag lifting accessories as required (desirable).
- Inspect and repair industrial racking as per SEMA standards (desirable).
- Modify electrical circuits as required for small projects.
- Configure managed switches as required for site-wide upgrades.
- Undertake more detailed scheduled inspections.
- Repair defects identified by inspections.
- Electrical apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds equivalent.
- BS7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- HV switching / authorisation certification (or willingness to train).
