CAF is currently seeking an experienced Contract Manager to join the Operations Direction of CAF Signalling, based in the United Kingdom. This role represents an exciting opportunity to become part of a leading international company in the railway signalling sector, contributing to the successful delivery and management of complex projects.

Profile Description

  • Chartered Engineer / Master’s Degree in Engineering (Telecommunications, Industrial, Organization, Civil Engineering or similar).
  • Preferably a UK national, with English as a native language and strong knowledge of the UK market. Fluent Spanish and willingness to travel are considered an advantage.
  • Proven and essential experience in NEC4 contract management in the UK, preferably within the railway sector, working with Network Rail or other UK railway authorities.
  • Experience under other NEC4 contract forms (PSC, DBM, etc.) will be positively valued.
  • A Master’s degree in Project Management or equivalent will be an advantage.
  • NEC4 certification or specific training in NEC contracts will be valued.
  • Previous experience on Network Rail projects, with knowledge of its standards, governance model and approval procedures, will be positively considered.
  • Experience in other complex international projects (FIDIC, JCT, etc.) is also desirable.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Contract management of the project from the tender/commercial phase, providing support during negotiations with partners, suppliers and clients, and offering continuous contractual advice to the project team throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordination and protection of the project’s interests in relation to partners, clients, suppliers and any other third parties involved, in coordination with the Legal Department.
  • Support in the negotiation and execution of the main project contract, including monitoring and tracking contractual obligations and requirements.
  • Support in the negotiation and execution of subcontracts, internal procurement agreements and any other third-party agreements required for the assigned project(s).
  • Identification and management of contractual opportunities, working closely with the project team.
  • Review and development of the project program to support the substantiation of contractual deviations and claims.
  • Review, analysis and monitoring of the “Accepted Programmed” in accordance with NEC4, ensuring proper identification and substantiation of Compensation Events and contractual deviations.
  • Continuous collaboration with the project team in defining the optimal project strategy from an operational, commercial, planning and legal, financial and risk perspective.
  • Support in the management and negotiation of contractual claims, with the assistance of the Legal Department.
  • Control, review and follow-up of written communications with the client, partners and third parties.
  • Attendance at meetings with partners, clients and/or third parties.
