What will be your role in the company?
To drive a proactive, people‑centred safety culture across CAF UK operations by integrating health & safety practices. Partner with front‑line teams, operations leaders, and unions to embed safe behaviours, reduce risk, and improve the lived safety experience—ensuring compliance with rail standards while elevating performance through culture and leadership.
What Salary will you be paid for this role?
As a Real Living Wage Employer, we are proud to pay competitively at CAF. For this role you will be offered a salary in the region of £45,000 per annum.
What will make you successful in this position?
- A NEBOSH General Certificate as a minimum Requirement.
- An appropriate and relevant qualification in either Auditing (i.e. IIA) or in Environmental Management (i.e. IEMA) – preferably both.
- Experience in a similar role.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills showing clear attention to detail.
- Demonstrable ability to recognise, evaluate and recommend controls.
- The ability to influence stakeholders across the business and engage them in Health and Safety initiatives and activities.
- Proven experience in engaging with and supporting a broad and varied range of stakeholders with the implementation of processes, policies, frameworks and controls and governing compliance in relation to them.
- Highly organised with a strong ability to plan complex and ever evolving workloads.
Other requirements and/or aspects to be assessed:
- Certificates in Industrial Hygiene and Ergonomics and applied psychosociology a plus.
- Training in valid ISO standard 45001 is a plus.
