What will be your role in the company?
The Maintenance Engineer has responsibility for supporting the project in all aspects of the maintenance and overhaul of the vehicles, ensuring that the safety, reliability, availability and maintenance targets are achieved.
Your daily duties will include:
- Delivery of the maintenance targets required for the vehicles.
- Ensuring compliance with all processes and procedures to deliver the maintenance services.
- Critical review of the vehicle maintainability during the design phase and review of the maintenance plans.
- Conduct maintainability demonstrations during the validation phase to identify any errors in the maintenance documentation and or design inadequacies.
- Ongoing review of the maintenance programme to ensure maximum availability of the vehicles.
- Review of the depot interfaces and facilities to ensure compatibility with the required maintenance activities.
- Provide support and technical advice to the project regarding all maintenance activities.
- Update of the suite of maintenance manuals.
- Management of the maintenance operations during the mobilisation phases.
- Management of the Overhaul programme.
- Undertaking technical reviews, condition assessments and other such investigations to extend maintenance periodicities.
- Management and monitoring of the material usage in line with the maintenance plan and budget, producing monthly summary reports.
- Provide input for business plan.
- Regular auditing of the maintenance activities.
- Support other business activities, audits and initiatives.
- Undertake CAF, maintainer, and client training.
- Review of ECRs to determine impact to maintenance documentation.
- Monitoring of National Incident Reports (NIRs) to determine applicability to fleet.
What salary will you be paid for this role?
As a Real Living Wage Employer, we are proud to pay competitively at CAF. For this role you will be offered a salary in the region of £64,000 per annum.
What will make you successful in this position?
To succeed in this role you will need:
- HNC/D or above in an Engineering related discipline.
- Experience in a maintenance engineering role.
- PC literate with the ability to learn new software programmes quickly.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
- Proven experience in planning and organising overhauls and/or maintenance plans.
- Ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
- Experience writing audit, technical and maintenance reports.
