The QMS Senior Engineer ensures the effective implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System in accordance with IRIS standards. This role supports compliance, quality assurance, and process‑improvement initiatives to ensure consistent product and service quality. This role may require occasional travel outside of the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain the site’s QMS in alignment with corporate policies and relevant regulations.
  • Lead internal and external audits; coordinate responses, follow‑up actions to ensure compliance of closure dates and lead the closure of open points by proactively collaborating with the working teams.
  • Manage UK MNCR system, follow up on pending actions & deadlines and report progress to Head of Quality and QMS representative in HQ.
  • Create a Process review system in the UK and monitor improvement actions on a regular basis.
  • Monitor corporate QMS documentation changes and create a consistent feedback loop to the relevant teams in the UK site.
  • Participate in process forums with HQ to be up to date with the business latest direction regarding QMS requirements and bring UK input into the discussions.
  • Report on QMS performance to the Head of Quality and support the site’s quality objectives.
  • Create weekly, biweekly and monthly reports on QMS status.
  • Participate in regular meetings with corporate team in HQ to inform of the progress of the UK site.
  • Monitoring of the deployment of Quality Initiatives in the UK.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure quality is integrated into all operations and promote a Quality culture throughout the company.
  • Manage the UK asset calibration system to comply with the CAF group standards.
  • Ensure Special Processes compliance.
  • Support SQA, Production QA and other departments in the business through leading QA owned CI initiatives and participating in the transversal ones.
  • Lead the deployment of HQ Quality initiatives in the UK, e.g. Process Audits.
  • Carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as may be reasonably expected by the line manager.

Essential

  • Experience in a Quality or Manufacturing role within a quality‑focused industry (e.g. Transportation, Aerospace, Pharmaceuticals).
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Sciences or a related Field.
  • Experience with QMS implementation and maintenance (e.g. ISO 9001, IRIS).
  • Experience of internal and external audits, including corrective action management.
  • Ability to compile and deliver technical training in both classroom and practical environments.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office packages.
  • Flexible approach to working across a broad range of activities as the role evolves.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Methodical and organised approach to work.
  • Proactive approach to problem‑solving, supporting continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.

Desirable

  • Experience using quality problem‑solving tools (e.g. 8D, CAPA, SCRA, 5‑Why).
  • Experience of Special Processes within manufacturing or quality control (e.g. welding, painting, bonding, torque tightening, electrical crimping, riveting).
  • Spanish language skills.
  • Experience with FAI (First Article Inspection) and FII (First Installation Inspection).
