What will be your role in the company?
The Team Leader is responsible for the day-to-day supervision, coordination, and performance of a team of technicians delivering corrective maintenance on a modern fleet of trains. The role ensures that all maintenance activities are effectively planned, prioritised, and delivered safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with railway industry, site, and company standards. The Team Leader provides technical leadership, supports fault diagnosis and root cause analysis, and ensures high standards of workmanship across all activities. In addition, the role is accountable for team performance management, maintaining accurate maintenance records, ensuring compliance with safety and operational requirements, and promoting a strong culture of continuous improvement within the depot. This is a safety-critical role requiring strong leadership capability, technical expertise, and the ability to manage priorities within a dynamic operational environment.
What will make you successful in this position?
- Level 3 engineering qualification or higher. Candidates with lower qualifications may also be considered if supported by exceptionally strong and relevant experience.
- Previous experience in a leadership role.
- Fault finding and root cause analysis experience.
- Able to interpret electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematic diagrams.
- Use of diagnostic software.
- Use of test and measuring equipment.
- Full UK driving licence (manual).
- Hold a valid Personal Track Safety (PTS) certification (Sentinel card) or be able to meet the requirements to obtain it.
- Available for shift work (Days & Nights including weekends).
What Salary will you be paid for this role?
As a Real Living Wage Employer, we are proud to pay competitively at CAF. For this role, you will be offered a salary in the region of £70,000 per annum.
