What will be your role in the company? CAF Rail UK is dedicated to the successful and safe delivery of its services to its customers and to the achievement of its business plan. This post is pivotal in achieving this.
Responsibilities:
- Carrying out planned and unplanned maintenance activities at Chester Traincare Centre, driving rolling stock within procedures, working day shifts with a 4 days on/4 days off pattern.
- Carry out work as allocated by the Team Leader or Production Manager within set timelines and standards.
- Ensure safety procedures and documents are adhered to.
- Have worksheets signed off promptly and correctly upon completion of work.
- Participate in meetings to resolve problems quickly and improve all aspects of the job.
- Play an active role in your training and development.
- Ensure quality procedures and work instructions are adhered to.
- Attend technical, quality, safety and briefings and take action on items raised.
- Carry out any duties within your competence as requested by the Team Leader or SPM.
- Follow local procedures and Railway Group Standards concerning the movement of rolling stock.
Salary: Competitive Real Living Wage Employer – salary around £39,000 per annum.
Success Factors:
- NVQ Level 2/3 (or equivalent) in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
- Previous railway experience (driver shunting experience not essential; training provided).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Fault finding and root cause analysis experience.
- Use of test and measuring equipment.
- Experience with Mechanical and Electrical components and servicing.
- Valid Driver’s Licence.
