Description
As the Technical Product Lead Betting Platform you will own the end‑to‑end vision, strategy and execution of Caesars Digital Betting Engine Platform (and related Betting Services) product roadmap. Initially you will modernize and maintain the platform, ultimately creating competitive advantage through our betting platform. Most importantly you will create a great betting experience for our Caesars Digital customers on all betting channels. This role demands a deep understanding of the sports betting domain in the US betting market, including its rules and regulations, and the technology that underpins it. You need a sound understanding of high‑performance real‑time systems to deliver a robust, scalable solution for the future. You will work closely with engineering, architecture and cross‑functional teams to drive your roadmap and ensure quality in the short term while moving on our longer‑term strategic goals. As part of this you will partner with our Pricing / Trading division to evolve the architecture of the betting engine and the broader platform, improving performance and developing its capabilities to create competitive advantage for the future. What you will do
- Define and own the product roadmap to improve the Betting Engine, ensuring performance, scale and a high bar for quality.
- Partner with the Pricing / Trading division to create capacity and flexibility within the Betting Engine platform for their 2025 plans (short and medium term).
- Maintain a deep understanding of the Betting Engine’s functionality and architecture, advocating for improvements while balancing short‑term stability with long‑term goals.
- Identify and address technical debt, driving initiatives to refactor, optimize or rebuild components where necessary.
- Partner with engineering, architecture and platform engineering teams to deliver high‑quality solutions that align with company‑wide architectural goals.
- Act as the primary liaison between the Betting Engine team and other verticals, ensuring seamless integration with adjacent platforms including user interfaces, payments and compliance systems.
- Collaborate with analytics teams to ensure the engine supports insights and reporting needs.
- Translate business and customer needs into technical requirements, ensuring clarity and alignment for the engineering team.
- Oversee platform stability, working closely with engineering to ensure uptime, reliability and high transaction throughput.
- Own the prioritization of the Betting Engine backlog, balancing competing priorities from internal stakeholders and external market needs.
- Define and monitor the KPIs related to the Betting Engine, focusing on Trading Update, Performance, Wager Placement, Bet Settlement, Trader / Operator Experience etc.
- Partner with Pricing / Trading to develop a clear picture of the future platform and incorporate that work into the architectural journey.
- Communicate progress, risks and dependencies to leadership and stakeholders, fostering transparency and alignment.
What you bring
- 5 years of experience as a Product Manager, Product Lead or similar role, ideally within Sports Betting, iGaming, FinTech or another high‑performance system environment.
- Proven experience managing real‑time high‑throughput platforms with a focus on reliability and scalability.
- Strong understanding of betting markets, odds and the intricacies of Sports Betting engines – a significant advantage.
- A strong technical foundation with an understanding of modern architectures, microservices and APIs.
- Experience working with high‑transaction, low‑latency systems in cloud environments (AWS preferred).
- Familiarity with messaging systems such as Kafka, distributed databases and caching strategies is a plus.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with a proven ability to balance competing priorities and foster cross‑team collaboration.
- Strong communication skills capable of bridging the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders.
